Did you know.... Carshalton Park, Carshalton Beeches Originally the park was approximately 10 times the size it is now, in 1892 parts were sold off building houses. Up until 1898 deer use to run and live in the park. Hog Pit is directly in front of the north entrance to the park, it is understood that Hog Pit was a water reservoir to power the mill. The Grotto is the south east of the park, built in 1724 it formed a very important part of the landscape in the park. Sadly the canal is dry and is very much in a state of disrepair.
